SWEET TREATS AND DECAY

Queen Elizabeth I in ornate attire with a jeweled crown and ruff collar, holding a scepter, set against a vibrant, decorative background, symbolizing historical dental issues related to sugar consumption.

In an article published in 1701 by John Stripe’s Life of Bishop Aylmer, we read that  Queen Elizabeth I really liked sweets, so she had a cavity in her tooth. One day while she was sleeping, she woke up with a tooth pain and didn’t put up with the pain and called the doctor’s court. The doctor recommended to take the tooth off, so she feels afraid and told them to come  back another day to extract her tooth.

We know that situation is common to everyone, many patients do the same thing when they feel fear. This history was fun, because the Queen is a normal person who liked candy and had a toothache and decay and this can happen with everyone in the world.
